Install new timing chain questions

Ok, here's the update.
Found a really nice block 10 minutes from my job! block is getting bored for the new pistons. Any advice on installing cam gear? I know the gears have to be indexed. Not like a sbc that you can bolt on. I am stoked to think next week I will be assembling new motor!
Thank you, C

Check the centerline on the cam that you are using. From the factory the cam was retarded. Many after market performance cams do not follow the factory center. I don't know how familiar you are with the effects of degreeing a cam, but a google search will give you volumes of info.

Between the title and the indexing the gear question, how did I miss that
