Got rear corner done. Next is a couple fill pieces for the front window, then the front top 90deg seam that I've been avoiding. Definetly getting better at welding, but yet so far from being any good.

Got the dreaded 90deg weld done. Mostly. Have some spots that I've gotta go over, but oh well.

I think the welding would go much better if I had someone to tell/show me how to do it
After touching up this seam, all that's left to weld is the fill plates for the window to fit. You can see where I notched the top of the hole to fit the window.

Got the front top seam done. Decently this time. Welded it on the inside, so I didn't just grind my welds off. Lesson Learned

I cut out those brackets in the previous photos, then welded across the seam.

Flapper wheel broke. Tossed a chunk into my hip at 11000rpm. I continued to use it, and will for the rest of this project. Then I'll buy a dewalt one.

Only welding left should be the filler plates for my front window.

The dent is factory. Filled with pink filler, covered in yellow primer, then green paint. Looks like somebody got mad in Toledo one day.

Man, I hardly wear shoes and if I do it's flip flops but son, you gotta cover your feet when welding. Otherwise, project is looking good, keep up the good work and the pictures.

Little Green....I do cover my feet...with that piece of metal So far, welding seems to be the one thing that should not be done in flip-flops. Foot burns suck.

Got one of the filler plates welded in. Taking a break from the heat, and putting up some pics. Had to go buy more clamps. The 2 I had just weren't gonna do it for me on this one. Welding went a lot better. Camper is looking good. Can't wait to finish it and mob it around

The marked out piece in those last photos is for the other side. I had already cut out the one I welded in.

Went ahead and also bought a new flapper wheel. Guess I should throw out the one with the chunk missing.

Lookin good! Regarding the flip flops, I once dropped a cigarette cherry between my toes, and I hopped around on one foot doing a crazy dance for a while! Couldn't imagine hot metal, lol.

Are you welding fluxcore or with gas? If it's with gas you might slow your wire speed/amperage down a bit and focus on keeping the bead straighter.

Cool project. Closest thing to molten metal in my shoes has been a 9mm casing. Fxxx that hurt real bad.

I got a split leg apron the other day, so no more corduroy fires

Including a pic of my little welder. Running .035 flux core
