Help identify??

Does anyone know what these two tabs are coming out of the dash on each side of the shifter were for?

Looks like where the glove box went. Hard to tell from the picture.

They are the hinges to the missing glove box door.

So it looks like they replaced the glovebox with gauges and switches? Duh never thought about the glovebox.
