Find a radiator shroud OR go electric fan?

well fellas..making progress on getting the ol J10 tuned up and running..(1974 Jeep J10 w/amc 360)..i discovered the PO had pulled off the radiator shroud...so i spent all weekend in the Pick n Pulls AND J&W jeep boneyard..to no avail! EVERY wagoneer and j10 truck had them pulled n gone...ebay wants $200 for re-pop! BUT i am wondering what u guys think? I found like 3 Contour fans and have already done this swap in my 4.0 CJ7..i did do the Flex-a-lite controller box made it easier but like $200..ugh...so i know how to do the swap..no worries..just curious which route is better to go..(was hoping the shroud would be ez find and cheaper so i can spend cash on new tires..but..ya know how it goes!
thanks all for any input! i will post updates next weekend once i have new valley pan intake gasket in, edelbrock carb rebuilt, and new water pump/hoses, and Team rush style upgrade ALL done! or wishful thinkin..but ima try!

If you can't find the shroud for a reasonable price, do the elec fan. An electric fan with on/off switch would have saved me a couple in my j10 so far. Ice puddles are fun for me, but not Apricot.

Is it heating up, I haven't had any temp issues due to my lack of shroud.

I just installed a new 3.8 Taurus electric fan in the ls powered 63 Galaxie it pulls like 4000 cfm. I dropped it in wagon for a test fit it looks good. 80 bucks shipped! Its a two speed motor so can also use a two speed controller, have low run till it hits say 195 then fires up high speed. Always run high when AC on. Toss in toggle for of road use

no overheating problems as of yet..i was just curious as i was surprised of the over 20 Wagoneers and j10's in boneyard not a one radiator shroud! Even on the ones with motors in them untouched...so maybe i am overthinking it..may be just fine without! thanks guys! i will see how she rolls..and then may have to go grab a contour fan if all else fails..i may be just fine way it is! thanks a million guys! i am SURE my next dumb question will soon follow as build progresses! i did see a SWEET stock radio in one of the j10's today! wow...took me back! i may have to see how much gold, or maybe a kidney they may want for it!

The shrouds were not built too tough for sure. When I got my Wagon it had the top 2/3rds of the shroud, And while it was running I leaned on it (more like rested my hand) and it shredded. Fortunately it didn't get my hand (DUHHUH)

This is gonna sound kinda funny, but it worked! I had the same problem with my J-10 gettin hot, no shroud. I got inventive and found some landscape edging, you know the black plastic stuff about 6-8 inches wide. Using tec screws (self tappers) I screwed one end into the radiator mounting bracket, looped it over the fan flush with the top of the radiator and screwed it to the other side bracket. Worked like a charm! no more overheat, and doesn't look half bad either.
