Coolant leak between engine and trans

Hi Jeepers,

I recently installed my freshly rebuilt 360 in my '86(ish) GW and got it running last week. No big issues so far, except for some coolant coming from where the rear of the engine block and the transmission bell housing meet.

I don't see it gushing out, but there are drops hanging from the lowermost bolt of the trans bell housing shield (just below the starter).

I'm thinking along the lines of a faulty freeze plug, but before I start pulling the engine, maybe you guys have some other suggestions.

Thanks!!

Allert

Get a flashlight and a mirror, check the back of the intake on both sides and check the heater hose on the back of the intake. Also, check the bottom of the heater core box for a leak.
