The RPM though does have a tiny so called baffle.

The one I pictured is a 2131 Edelbrock. The tray was riveted, I ground the rivets to clean it, then self tappers to replace. I did not buy it new though

Been running for 5 years without that on my Performer. No issues. yes make sure PCV is clear, but that much pressure would pop out PCV valve pretty fast you would think. it's just a rubber grommet.

This things been stashed in my moms shed for about a year now, because every time I touched it, it pissed me off. I am going to tow it home Monday and start fiddling with it on the weekend (I work strange hours) I will do ny best to keep everyone posted on my progress
