91 Grand wagoneer dana 44s.

I have the chance to pick up a set of dana 44s off a 91 grand wagoneer for 350 bucks for the pair, and I was wondering what gear ratio that they had, or what the options were? I'm going to throw them under the xj next month after the fab is done, and I figured I would ask the experts what gearing I should expect to see.....thanks guys!

I would say 3.73 or 4.10. If it hasn't been removed or fallen off there should be a tag on the diff cover that has the ratio on it.

They won't be 3.73 or 4.10.

They will be 3.23 or 2.73 gears. 2.73 was standard and the 3.23's were with the towing package.

3.23? Pretty sure you meant 3.31 since 3.23 isn't a valid ratio for a Dana 44.

x2 on them not being 3.73 or 4.10. Even the mid-70s FSJ's were most likely to have 3.55, so it makes sense that newer models wouldn't have lower gear ratios.

Ha! I guess I shouldn't post at 5:35am anymore... Thanks for the correction!

With 3.31's the rear probably has a trak-loc.
You can run 4.10 thick gears on that carrier though, that's what I have.
