83 or 84

I am planning on buying an 83 or 84 Wagoneer (Cant remember which). Just wondering what the differences would be. I know Chrysler came into play somewhere in there.
Thanks
Aaron

Well the Haynes and Chilton's manuals separate at 84. There is a 72-83 manual and an 84-91 manual. Just wondering what happened in 84?
Thanks
Aaron

I don't know about the manuals but AFAIK the first totally Chrysler Jeep was in 1987 and even at that there was a LOT of AMC parts on it.
