Buy mine. I'm in the Springs. My 401 had a performer and I just got a Holley T/A. Still have the other Holley 4-bbl too.

Properly tune 4 barrel should get better mileage than the 2. Smaller bores so higher velocity air charge.... Until you get addicted to the go pedal. I bet you already know this but make certian the machine shop runs a ball hone through those lifter bores. the second a new lifter stops rotating in its bore = good bye cam lobe. If you can afford new springs use them, im not big on trusting 40 year old valvesprings. Least not in GM stuff.. Nice rig btw!

Honestly I don't know EXACTLY but it's between a 600-750. It got my 360 to Colorado 85-90 mph no problem and never stumbled off the line.

The only reason I got the new one is because I thought it gelled up on the road so I got a new carb. It was just a leaking fuel line.

I replaced it with a 670 Holley TA.

revelc, just curious on the compression you used... I built my 4.7 Stroker in the WJ@ 9.6:1 static but im fabricating a turbo/intercooler setup for 15psi etc. With a healthy cam (not sure of your specs) but cant we get away with 10.5:1 on the 360/401 if we are running 93 octane? I know BBC are NOT tolerant of high compression so 9:5 with iron heads on them is about it on pump gas. Id rather not have to pony up for aluminum heads but i might.... from what i hear the Edelbrocks dont really flow any better than cleaned up stockers.

Im running regular grade on my 9.5:1 I don't know my dynamic compression with my cam though.

From what I hear 10:1 is about where you start waking the line. If your on the road and the fill stations out of primo, you could be in trouble.

I can provide my can specs of you want later. It's a crowed stage 2-3 grind.

I was checking into Saul's cam, the comp 260 grind. He bough the kit with chain and gears. That kit has a centerline of 106, instead of the factory 110. So if your using that kit it will not be retarded as the factory spec calls for.

I was thinking that the aftermarket companies compensated the retardation but didn't want to open a can of worms. Thanks for sharing.

Most of the "performance" company's do, but not all. Edelbrock goes both ways. The comp seems to be the main one that does it in the grind instead of the gears. I like to throw it out there. If you mix and match, you could end up at 102cl which would be a real pita to tune for street. It would be nice if the cam company's would just spell it out. Alas for many of us, our good intentions lead to higher education LOL.

You'll be okay because Comp factors in the retarding. Keep us posted on your progress. Your really tearing into that thing.

I have a performer intake I'm getting rid of. And a 260 cam and lifters with timing gear with less than 2,000 miles on them if your interested. And a Holley 4-BBL too.
Shameless plug :-)

Awesome man! So excited for you! What compression ratio pistons did you go with?
