1989 Grand Wagoneer Radio Removal

I have a 1989 Grand Wagoneer and the radio is broken so I would like to remove it and try to get it fixed. Does anybody know how to remove the radio, i don't want to break anything and cause more problems. Thanks

Radio removal

I guess it depends on what style radio you have. If its and old style (shaft mount with knobs) then youd need to pull off the knobs, find the nuts behind them and remove the radio through the top of the glovebox.
If its not shaft mount, then it probably uses some sort of quick release, perhaps like similar vintage Ford products. On those there were 4 holes in the face of the radio, approximately 3/16" in the corners. If thats whats in your dash, 4 16 penny nails in the holes should release the los\cks and the radio should slide out.
Not sure if this helps or not, Andy
