1989 Grand Wagoneer

Well I'm in. Finally after about a year of searching I picked one up for $750 from a young man that didn't know how to work on vehicles. 112,000 on odo.
The good:
Almost all original except for a small lift with 33" tires, wheels and stereo.
Interior is in awesome condition.

The so-so:
Small pin holes in one of the rockers, very few. Small amount of rust behind one of the rear wheels.

The badish:
Typical rust through on the frame in gas tank area, just a line though about 12" long, 1/4 wide, running about 1/2" above the bottom plate of the frame. Plus skid for tank.
Kid broke the yoke ear on the output for the rear.

The work:
He thought he broke the timing chain, but actually it was just a bad distributor gear. Tried a used gear last night from a friend but that didn't work, further inspection shows some damage to the cam gear, so it looks like whole new front assembly anyways.

I'll post some pics up later.

SemperFI,

Nice! I also picked up my GW from a young fellow who did not do mechanics. He had completely replace the interior however and did a great job. I have been working on things under the hood, trying to sqeeze a bit better mpg. Doing research on going the 4 barrel carb route.

Good luck with your project,

Kent
