1981 honcho/ what is it worth

I been a lurker for a while and am a j-10 fan, I have owned 3 of them over the years and am now thinking of another. Help me decide, please.
1981 401 torque flight 727, not running. Paint dead. silver sportside with rollbar. Needs restore but mostly all there.[IMG]0515111456.jpg[/IMG]

401 was only til 78. so if it is an 81 then its a transplant. pics help a lot

i dont know how to do photos. its pretty rough lookin. needs some work for sure. the engine did look like it had some eddy parts (which i like on my 401). where is the truck?

Here close to me in Norwood. What would you say it is worth just from the photos? I know all the ones I have had need work and had alot more rust.

it is clean. but why doesnt it run? how long has it sat around. offer him 500 and go up. it seems like a good starting platform especially if the 401 doesnt need a ton of work and $$$ to get running

I'd say offer him anything from $550-750.

Do the usual checks. Fuel in the carburetor bowl, spark at the plugs, etc. It could be a stupid fix to get it running, or it could be serious time and money. Either way, a 401 J-truck for less than $1000 sounds like a good start to a fun project.
