1978 Jeep Cherokee

I just recently purchased a 78 Jeep Cherokee for $800 and I want to replace the stock front and rear bumpers with custom 32 Front and Rear Tube Bumpers. The problem is all the bumpers that I have found are for a 79-91 Jeep Cherokee and I was wondering if they are still able to adapt to a 78 body style. My goal in this Jeep is to use it for off-roading and climbing. I have already purchased a BJ's 2 inch Lift Springs with U-bolts and a Steering Stabilizer Shock - Stock Replacement Pro Comp Stabilizer Shock for a lift kit, I bought Pro Comp Series 51 Steel Wheels 15x8 Pro Comp Series 51 Steel Wheels - 3.5-inch backspacing with Pro-Comp Radial All Terrain Tires 31x12.50R15 Pro-Comp All Terrain Tires and also have the Jeep getting painted next week. If there is anything else that you think I would need for the Jeep for what I want to do with it, it would be greatly appreciated if you let me know

I'm not sure what year they changed the front frame and bumper mounts, but I think you can retro fit the newer ones. I can't on my '73 because the bumper mount would hit my front spring mounts. ('73 was the last year of spring over front stock)

79 was the year they went to the newer bumper style but like Carnuck said, your 78 can be modified. I believe that you have to add some extensions to the front frame ends that were present on the 79s but not 78s and earlier. I don't think the rear bumper changed all that much.
