1970 J4000 Jeep Truck
I was wandering what size motor came in a 1970 or 1971 J4000 Jeep truck.It has a 4 speed trans.It has a 350 v8 emblem on the fender.It has 350 stamped on the intake.I was wanting to put the motor in my 1985 CJ7.Ihave a 258 6 cylinder with a 4 speed.
Tough one; let's see if we can figure this out. 350 on the fender. 350 on the intake. I'd have to take a wild guess and say it's a 350 !!! J/K, the Buick 350 was used in the wags and trucks for a few years. Strong motor, but won't be a direct swap into your CJ.

Thanks Patrick. I did not know if the old truck may have had some other parts put on it that were not jeep parts. The transmission is bad on it but it cranks and runs well and he only wants 300 for it. Do you have any idea what might be involved in a swap for the Buick engine to my 85 CJ-7? Thanks for your reply.
