Which is the #1 plug?

Where is the #1 plug on the distibutor in relation to the vacuum advance? Here is a pic:

I put my #1 at "A". That is where my OEM manual showed it to be but as old iron stated, you could make it any one you want as long as you keep the firing order the same.

What engine are you working on?...............360,,,,304,,,,,,401???? It sure as s#it isn't the 4.0 with 8 spots to choose from.

Ive got a 360. I found out which one it was. It was the one right above the vacuum advance.
