Value? Going up!

anybody noticed the value of MJs are going up alot lately?

when I got the '86 MJ in November '12 it was worth $4,700 average, steadily going up in early '13

now its $6,450

Now I'm really considering keeping the truck

p.s. I was using NADA guides.

I posted mine for sale for $3500 (short box 4.0L, no rust, lifted 5 1/2", 33" tires and converted to AW4/NP242 and 4x4) So far no serious inquires except from people back east. I'm tempted to drive out there and tow my $2500 for sale Eagle wagon (or vice versa) to sell them both.

This has been a pita for a bud of mine looking for a half decent mj. Last one was 1200, and I would have charged them to haul it away.

Gotta remember its hard to find an old jeep in good shape. Mines 27 years old it would be a pita to keep it in good shape lol.

My advice is to find one in good running shape, forget the cosmetics.

There is one locally that keeps changing hands... its a 92, with a full 98 interior and engine update. Needs paint, some body work, and the door conversion finished. Comes up for sale, and never when I have money

Mine keeps going up with the money I dump into it. It will be priceless once I am finished with it. floorboards seem to take up much of my time so far.

Dont get ur hopes up high, jeeps usually stay at the same value whether its beefed up or not. Unless ur doing a stock/factory restoration u wont be getting most of the money back.

I used to park next to one of these at the harbor. White with black trim like my XJ (albeit with a well-worn exterior). They were like brothers from another mother.

Looks like there're still quite a few on CL around here. Someday, perhaps.

Good, maybe I can get a decent amount. I'm probably going to sell my '88 soon. I need a tow rig.

Bummer, manual would make a great tow rig. Mines a 3 speed auto, it really struggled towing for 700 miles.

Mine used to increase in value everytime I filled up the gas tank!

Now, it has completed a restoration.
