the AX-4 and AX-5 are the same trans, just one has a 5th gear inside. the AX-15 is completely different (found behind 4.0Ls) . The AX-15 is both fixable and upgradeable because it it stronger and useful behind v6s to mild v8s in addition to the 4.0L. the AX-4/5 are weaker, but work just fine behind a 2.5L. There's just no reason to swap them behind anything else.
