Strange sounds

So i was doing a little wheeling the other day and i had my mj in 4x4 high and every time i turned it made all kinda of clunking noises and strange sounds but when i put it in 2wd its fine any ideas i wasnt even turning that sharp

Some where up front i was in the truck driving so all i know is somewhere up front

No. The U joints are the joints that attach the driveshafts on each end.
