Replacing parking brake cable

My son's comanche has a broken parking brake cable. Looking on ebay there are several cables with different part numbers. They all say they will fit our 89 4.0 5-speed. has anyone purchased one of these replacment cables and got it right the first time?
Any help would be appreciated.
