Part Time 4wd Explane

Why does it feel like my front wheels are not working in the snow. Got stuck today. Clearly in 4H. Never had a vehicle with part time 4x4.

Sorry. 4.0 not sure of transfer case 1991 sport 5 speed manual case

Most likely CAD (Central Axle Disconnect) in front axle not working, which means your front axle isn't working even though the transfer case is.
Stupid design that they abandoned in the mid '90s.
Very easy to connect it permanently. Then the transfer case will work as it is supposed to.

Go over to comancheclub.com. Everything you need to know about these trucks over there.

There are threads on how to fix it with pics.

Actually abandoned it mid 1991. Here's a link to a simple fix:
