Clean new MJ, will cherokee fuel sender work?

Well I always wanted one, and thanks to my best friend ever.... I finally got one. Its gonna need a little love, but over all is in amazing shape. The poor little 2.5 isnt running. Turns out it needs a fuel sending unit..

Anyone know where to find a sender that fits? Will an XJ sender fit?

Here are a few pics.

Here is the fuel sender. I think I'm gonna need to flush the tank, lines, and might need to rebuild the injector. I have a 4.0 so maybe I'll swap it, maybe I wont.

XJ sending unit won't work. What year is it?

It's an 88. I keep hearing mixed reviews on the XJ sender. I've found 3 or so people that say the used one and it works fine, and some that say it won't fit. Sooo..

Fuel pump, yes. Sender, no. Works opposite.
