Neutral safety switch

Well, my neutral safety switch went bad in my trail rig This was not unexpected, it has been acting up from time to time. I was wondering if anyone has tried to repair/rebuild these devices, or can tell me how to test what part is bad and replace it. I really cant see spending t5he kind of money they want for the switch (200), that could be my new BTF kryptonite diff cover, for my 8.8. Or if some one knows how to bypass this device, it would be greatly appreciated. Tis is my trail rig.

Check the pin-outs at the connector up high on the firewall before you bother trying to take it off. It's a PITA.

The connector terminals labeled 'B' and 'C' should have continuity in park and neutral, 'A' and 'E' in reverse, 'A' and 'G' in 3rd, and 'A' and 'H' in the 1st-2nd position.

Then, if it is really bad (not that I doubt you), go to jeepin.com for the removal & cleaning info.

Thanks for the info, on how to test it. The symptoms I am haivng are a no crank, when in park, but if I wiggle the shifter in nuetral, or move it, it starts. Then some times it doesnt. Battery fully charged, gas tank full of fuel. Those are the reasons why I suspect the NSS, instead of some other sensor.
