Idle speed too high

Posted this in the XJ forum due to # of potential responses, but wanted to post it in its proper forum too! Thanks!

Hey everyone, my first night/time on the board. I figured I would get more responses in the xj forum, and after all aren't we all bretheren in jeepdom? I have an 89 comanche with the 4.0L (paid $500 for it 2 months ago). When I first had it the engine idled at about 800RPM once warmed up. Now it idles at about 1200RPM and fluctuates up and down a tiny bit (between 1100-1300RPM). Not a huge deal, but I was just wondering what the cause might be. Do I need a new throttle positioning sensor? The temperature is about 30 deg less now, but I didn't think that was the root of the problem. Thanks for any info you can provide.

The is an AIC (??) in the older TBs I think. It might need cleaned and/or replaced. This might cause high idle or the engine to race. Also look for vacum leaks.
