I need advice on buying a comanche

Have come across a fellow who lives a little over an hour from me. He is selling a 87 Comanche with 4in. Suspension lift on 30 in. Tires. He has a high output online six from 92 in it and Dana 30 front 35 rear. I plan to go look at it next weekend, any advice on what to look for? And any idea of why you think it's worth, I know it needs painted soon it a very nice puke yellow and primer color now.

Check for rust underneath and under the carpet. Let it run til it gets hot and check for leaks. What's he asking for it? Make sure 4wheel drive works.

Mileage, service records, DRIVE IT!, who did the engine swap? Pro or Joe?

Rust on the rockers and above the rear wheels wells is extremely common, but check for frame rust.

What is he asking for it?

Thanks for the advice guys, it came in handy. I ended up not buying that MJ that I spoke of but instead bought another that was in much better shape for a bit more but worth it. again thank you all.

I have one and was told by my brother if i sold it he would kill me. I plan on putting a 4.5 in lift on it like I had on my 98 cherokee and 8.8 in the rear. It has the 4.0 with 5 speed and iv beat the crap out of it every week end.
