How This Comanche Look?

Any thoughts? Think she'd be a good DD while I work on the Cherokee?

1988 Jeep Comanche, Rust Free!

Price could prolly be negotiated down a bit. Looks to be in good condition.

Wow that is a clean Manche. Especially for the east coast. Id say talk him down and grab it up. Even if it is only 2wd I believe they are easily converted to 4wd if the need arises.

yeh, it would arise eventually. I just need something I can pay for with a loan, that's rust free. I can worry about doing all the work later.

pull up the edges of the carpet and check for moisture and rust. No Comanche is immune to floor rot.

floor rot leads to frame rot.

Doubt the rust would be too bad given it came from TN.

Anyone know what tranny it would have? My first job would def be to change out and do 4x4 maybe with an AW4 behind the 4l

Anyone know if that can be done? Is it bolt on, or would it require fab work?

that particular truck is still a work in progress. there are a dozen ways for water to leak under the carpet, and once it's there, this is inevitable.

Swapping to a 4.0L/auto/4wd is pretty much a bolt-in thing, but you'll need to change EVERYTHING about the truck. But all you really need is a decent running XJ as a donor.

Indeed, and I am hesitant to do that, cus I love the idea of a 4-5speed, but the aw4 is freaking bullet proof haha.

huh? a 4wd conversion is a bolt-in affair with the right parts. There's no good reason to skip a pristine 2wd body just because 4wd is desired.

But a switch to an AW-4 is a complicated procedure since the trans is computer controlled.

It's a 2.5L. Pretty much everything is bulletproof behind it.

yeh I def am not turning it down because it's a 2.5 or because it's a 2wd lol. These things are super easy to convert if you can find the parts, and if it's truly rust free, $1500 is a dealio in my book.
