head gasket issue 1987 4.0 comanche

what would the symptoms of a blown head gasket be? i just check my oil after putting a few hundred miles on my jeep after getting her up and running, and i noticed that the dipstick seemed to look like chocolate milk a light brown color, and each time i looked it was the same, also if it matters i really dont have any kind of heat in the cab barely enough to keep the windshield clear. any help is very appreciated

Ya thats not exactly a good sign, also if you have unexplainable coolant loss or excessive overheating or crazy amounts of white smoke. All of these can be signs of a blown/blowing HG. As far as your heating issue there is a heater control valve that is just a PITA and can be removed. Its on the passenger side between the coolant bottle and the engine against the fire wall. Black metal pipes with a vacuum line running to a valve. Another possible issure could be your heater core is clogged, back flushing provides a simple fix. There are other possiblities but these are the simplest to fix.

i dont think the engine has overheated, but then again the idiot light on the dash hasn't tripped btu that doesnt mean it hasnt over heated, it also has been stalling or wanting to stall when it idels after i drive it for a bit, and i also flushed out the heater core but i didnt know if a leaking head gasket would make so there is very little heat in the cab of the truck.
