This is what I have started with, I got it cheap but then crap happened so it sat in the garage for a long time. I pulled it out and am now going to build it better than my last one. I still drive my last one, but some things I did to the old one are coming back to haunt me, this new project I plan to do right.

I am planning on putting an 8 inch long arm on this winter as I complete the floor boards and totally undercoat/bed-line the entire frame, floorboards, engine compartment and rockerpanel areas. I have a brand new 4.0 bored 60 over to put into it and was thinking about upgrading the dash and interior to an 1999/2000 setup, but that is a lot of work for what a guy would get from just a 1992ish power setup, plus, the seats are not as comfortable and are built more cheaply. I want electric everything, power everything and this baby will be brand new by the time it is "clasified" as an antique......my mission!
I am open for any suggestions due to interior upgrades are only thoughts right now. Balancing work/practibility and surplus in this project (interior), but now is the time to contiplate these things.....

I will post as I go in the next year or so as I make more progress.

As digging into this creature, I am finding out that the unibody frame is in real good shape, just the sheet metal on the floor boards have thinned and produced managible holes. I HATE RUST!, so all will be elminated!
Question: I have been blasting EVERYTHING to bare metal, then cold-galvanizing everything before priming/painting. I question galvanizing before or after priming fresh metal....What are some thoughts on this subject.?
PS.. I am still looking for brand new frame braces (mine are in good condition, but would prefer new).......anyone???

Why is your front axle so far forward?
04-21-2013 01:03 PM
I am not sure as to why the front axle appears to be "forward" at this time. I have been following Rust'ys instructions but need to install the engine and tranny and get bigger tires before I can do the front-end adjustments according to them.?? I have been looking for anyone who has done the 8.5 inch lift from them so I can ask tons of questions. Rusty's instructions are not real specific by all means.
