dana 35 carrier exploded

So i opened up my diff cover on my d35 today for the first on my very PO abused 88 mj. i found the spider gears laying at the bottom. im open to suggestions on how to fix it. It was preiously welded so the carrier is ruined. the right side is still welded tight, the left side looks like i could grind it down and try to weld it back without taking the carrier out. or the local junkyard is sure to have a new carrier. im on a shoestring budget (broke college kid) but i love my jeep and i came home for spring break over Mexico just to go fourwheeling. tia

For the labor costs to install a new carrier (setting up gears is a pretty involved process), you can go buy another Dana 35. Heck, I've seen people trying to give their old axles away.
try:
car-part.com
and
comancheclub.com/forums

Now is a good time to contemplate an axle upgrade. A dana 35 will always be unreliable behind aggressive 34s.
Jeep on!

I agree with pete. But if you cant do the upgrade it would be cheaper to call a local JY and get another D35 for cheap.

I ended up welding it back up for now. Hopefully it will hold for at least a few wheelin trips. Im down grading the tires soon since they are getting worn. Probly get 32 or 33 MTs. Thanks for the thoughts guys
