comanche engine tranny question

Found a comanche and wanting to build it a little

curious if the comanche 4.0l and the 2.8l v6 ( chevy ) came with the same transmission?

or if you convert from the 2.8l you have to do engine tranny tcase.

Thanks

The 2.8L and 4.0L do not share the same transmission.

The best thing to do if you have a 2.8 equiped MJ is to swap in a 3.4. They came n Camaro's and other GM vehicles in the 90's. More power better reliability. Also you want to make sure it is from a rear wheel drive vehicle, cause the front wheel drive ones have a different bell housing pattern. I think You get like 170 horsepower and a lil over 200 torque.
