best option for rear axle?
Hi guy's (sorry for my bad english)
Well i'm from europe and in europe yearly we need to let the gouvernement inspect our vehicles. so we cant realy adapt anything about our suspension. now i bought a '90 MJ where they adapted realy a lot. they putted the springs over the axle for sheap lifting but the way they did was deadly. even a ten year old can weld beter. its a 35 in the back Now the MJ is sow rear in belgium that i can't find the good axle to put under it. wat is my best option to put under it with the least welding? an XJ 35 or an YJ 35. keeping the springs over the axle. with an xj axles i just need to reweld the rigth atachement of the shockabsorber to the rear! wright? anyone experience? or a link for ordening a housing online in export?

The shock mounts are on the u-bolt plates. So with a new axle all you need to do is weld perches onto it. I believe they are 42" apart.
An XJ or YJ axle will be the right width, see if you can't find a D44, it's much stronger than a D35. I put an XJ under my MJ, I kept it SUA though. It just takes welding perches onto it. |

Both the XJ and yj will require rewelding perches. (The XJ is SOA, but the perches aren't quite in the correct location)
Why not just reweld the perches on your existing D35?

Dont Know If You Have Alot Of Ford Explorers Or Rangers But If You Do You Could Do The Ford 8.8 Swap... It Can Be Done In A Afternoon With A Couple Of Spring Perches, Angle Gauge And A Welder... Its An Awesome Swap... Very Strong Avle Housing Tubes, And Axles.
