Axle swappage?

So a local is getting rid of his dana 44's under his 76' FSJ cherokee and i'm wondering is i can stuff em' under the 'manche? I know that theyre wider, which im totally fine with, but is the offset the same? i assume i'll need new spring perches and shock mounts but what else will it take? How about the DS flanges? I realize this has been covered before and i can find this by searching, but boss man has me workin crazy hours out in the sticks (read no internet access). OH FWIW my comanche is a 1990 SWB with a np 231. The fella is asking 350 for both, reasonable price? Should i hold out and one ton it? i gotta have 35's if not 37's. Thanks in advance.

nothing to see here.

MAkeIf aggressive 35s or 37s are in your future for sure, I've heard it time and time again that a one ton drivetrain is what you should go with. I imagine that is espetially true if you have an aggressive driving style.
But back to those axles, if they are narrow track 44s, I'd most definitely pass on them. If they are wide-track, they they might be worth it. sure that the rear axle has a centered diff and not the crazy offset one. What gears are in them?
