What are the current engines and trans? (Trans: 3sp or 4sp?)

Those will effect the ability to swap.

91 was the first year of the HO in a Cherokee did it ever make it into a Comanche?? .
The only automatic used on the 4.0L Comanche is a AW4 that I know of.
Now is the TCM module the same on a REnix and HO I have no idea.
But I'm betting they are the same.

AFAIK the only diffs between the MJ & XJ are behind the driver's seat. The engines/trans are the same for both for the years.

Different output shafts and spline count.

If you own a Renix Jeep, you'll want to check this out.

Ask Paradise about tCUs. He had a heck of a time and that ended up being the issue.

Spline count and tcu and bell housing is a little shallower on the renix.
Just went thru this on my 92 xj. Put in a built fresh 90 aw4. Had to use the 92 bell. The 92 tcu won't work and the 90 tcu won't plug into the 92 harness. Had to gave the solenoids rewired.
The output spline count is less on the renix era. So you'll have tcase issues.
