87 had a different shift sequence. 1,2,3, 3 lock torque converter, OD, OD lock converter.
Yours should be 1,2,3, OD, lock converter.

It seems like it runs good now but my jeep Is a 1990. The 88 TCU should be compatible right?

Yes. All the Renix TCUs are compatible. Just the 87 has the funky shift sequence.
