92 Comanche tranny gasket and filter change

I am thinking about changing the filter and tranny pan gasket on a 92 Comanche. I am fairly mechanically inclined. Is there anything tricks I need to know before doing this. How long should this job take?

Thanks for the input

I am fairly unmechanical and managed to do it. Although, I think I inadvertently used a permanent form of Permagasket to reinstall the pan. Filter and gasket was less than $20, drained out about 6 to 6.5 qts of the fluid located a drain plug towards the rear of the pan. Be careful of small hoses and things inside when cleaning off gasket and sealant from bottom of trans housing. I don't know if there is a torque converter drain. There were two magnets in the pan with some gray powder and a few larger metal flakes. Should I be concerned? I haven't gone very far and fluid is already going pink/gray. Seems to be shifting fine.
Good Luck RZ

Always be prepared for a big mess when dropping the pan of an automatic trans. And wear safety goggles and ear plugs when under the rig.
Jeep on!
