88 Jeep comanche Dana 35 question

I'm almost certain I have a dana35, I'm trying to change the gear oil in the rear end. In my research I have determined that the dana 35 should have a rubber plug on the cover that just pops off. Mine has a metal plug with a square that looks like it is made for a socket wrench.

Any advice

I think later model D35's have the plug. My Comanche D35 is also threaded, but my 94 wrangler D35 had the plug.
