I have a 88 mj and would like to swap out the cluster for one that has a tack. What are the things i need to look for in the new cluster and what hardware on the engine i will have to change ?

I found it easier on mine to just buy an aftermarket tach and mount it to the steering column.

I did that on my '87 ('87/88 swap) and it just plugged in. I had to pull that one out to put in one that has the column auto shifter in it.
