87 Jeep Comanche 4x4 light on

Hi guys, I just bought this jeep and drove it home today. All the way home the 4x4 light was on - it was not in 4 wheel drive though. Is there something I need to check/do to fix this? Also, any hints/tips about this truck would be great, first jeep and I am getting ready to take it on a five hour trip Thanks!!

The vacuum actuated electrical switch for the light is located under the coolant bottle. Odd blue color with a vac line and wire on it.

That vacuum system sucked when new and I'm sure the hoses are shot now. Here's what I suggest to get any future problems off the radar screen.

Thanks guys! It is OK to drive it before I fix this or do I need to fix it right away?

Hard to say. The fix described in the link above takes 1/2 hour.
