The book recomends a specific brand and the plugs to be gapord at .035, but I was curious if people have discovered any new tips for me while I'm doing this work on my MJ

Nothing special for tuneups. Champion plugs, .035, new wires, cap, rotor to complete tuneup. Of course, check air filter. A bottle of Chevron/Techron fuel injector cleaner in about 3/4 of a tank of gas is never a bad idea to help optimize fuel injector spray pattern.
