ZJ 3" lift - Junkyard style

Front springs - mid 70's 2wd F150
Front shocks - 95 YJ fronts - You have to press out your old bar pins to put in new shocks, or get some bar pin eliminators.
Rear springs - use your old front springs, or a set of upcountry front springs.
Rear shocks - 95 F150 4x4 rears...

Did you have to do any mods to the springs before you did the install? This is awsome if it works good.

No mods to the springs were necessary. The new front springs are installed "upside down". I forgot how the rear goes in. It doesn't ride too bad. Rides like my `04 Silverado w/ the towing package does.

The front springs that I used to move to the back were a set of V8 upcountry springs. If you use regular V8 springs or 4.0 springs, you end up with about 2" of total lift in the rear.

The rear springs are from 70's F-100/F-150 trucks. My particular springs came out of a 76 F-150 2wd w/ a 351.

If I remember the #'s correctly, I got 3" in the front, and 2.75" in the back. Keep in mind on the front I put another set of factor spacers, so that probably gave me an extra 0.5" in the front.

I spent $40 for the springs, and around $60 for the shocks.

Here we go.... A mish-mash of pics... I really didn't take too many of the build up of it. Wasn't expecting to post pics about it.

Pic 1 - This is stock suspension...

Pic 2 - This is after we tried just the UpCountry V8 front springs on the front. Not much lift....

Pic 3 - This is after the lift, I went playing a little....

Pic 4 - This is it up on the alignment rack.

Cars and such | Facebook

I will try to get a few of the Jeep just as it sits. Should have taken some tonight. I was over at my buddy's house changing the front brake calipers on my ZJ. Could have taken some good shots of the springs....
