You can replace your grille with a TJ grille thus getting you the desired headlights. It's not an exact fit though because of the YJ's hood being slightly squared on the corners.

Tisk tisk.. shoulda bought a TJ. Heh heh. Just kidding.

There was a thread floating around a few days ago that described it in more detail.

The YJ grille is way better than the TJ.... The TJ grille is too "cutesy"

I tend to agree, but XJandYJ's red YJ with the Commando front clip/hood is pretty badass.

You could swap the fenders, hood and grill from a CJ and have some nice round headlights.

This guy did the TJ grill swap, it turned out pretty good. I like the look of it. You can find TJ grills with the light assembly for sale for usually around $100.

I know one could bolt a YJ body on a CJ frame, but could one put a CJ grille on w/o changing the hood and fenders? I don't wanna buy an entire CJ front clip.

Why would you want to change out the square headlights? If you wanted round lights you should have just bought a TJ.

No, the grill and hood of either the CJ or YJ need to stay together or be a matched set due to the curves at the top.
CJ fender will need to trimmed a touch on the inside to fit on a YJ and YJ fenders are about 1.5 '' too long for a CJ so they can be shortened or the outer holes filled in as there are two sets. The CJ grill may interfer with a power steering box on the YJ. Trimming of the grill or a small body lift will work.
