Not super cheap, but I picked up a front skid, and hardware to mount it for 32 bucks.

Craigslist people!

I really like Captainofiron's blow by. It doesn't look homemade.

I wrapped my intake with insulation and then insulating tape. I also cut a larger hole in the front of the airbox. Now I'm getting air that is 50 degrees colder coming through my intake. I don't know the performance/gas mileage ramifications yet, but I imagine I've improved my mileage.

Question about Cowl intake mod on the first page. Do you cover up the hole in the front of the air box or do you leave it open??

Wow, I will be doing the intake heat shield as soon as warm weather comes around. That is the most interesting and shockingly stupidly simple and cheap upgrade to do. Kudos to you man! I'm gonna try the factory fog lights on with high beams on tomarro just for some better light while im creeping around at night and during snow storms. I would like to see some more engine/hp/fuel economy upgrades for 87-90 cherokees. Great posts all around!
