Pick up an extra grab handle, cut out the holes for it on your drivers side A-pillar trim, and bolt it into the existing threads under there. Also get a leather shift boot for your manual transmission.

I am looking for some cargo area mods for the XJ...specifically for the little cubby above the passenger wheel well. I know there have probably been a ton of these posted, but I don't see any when browsing and can't search yet(hopefully buying membership soon).

That is a maddening little space. It's not a cargo idea, but one of the most popular is to put a subwoofer (or power inverter, or air compressor (see the other posts in that thread for more ideas), or fire extinguisher) there.

In terms of cargo mods, the #1 idea is to secure a bit of cargo netting over the cubby, then you have a nice pocket to drop stuff in. I couldn't find a picture. You can use hollow-wall anchor screws to secure the netting if you can find ones small enough to work on the thin plastic walls of the cubby hole. A steel version is available for purchase here, but it would be cheaper to make it yourself. There was also a specially made tool chest that has gone out of production, you'll see it in the first & second links above, I think.

Its since been cleaned up (all the wires are hidden, not just the 12V), but I'm about 10,000 miles away from it right now, so you'll have to wait a month for updated pics...
