Get a good quality cat and you wont even know it's there.
(Assuming a cat from 89 is old enough to be restrictive by this point), would taking it out and banging it up a bit to shake all the crud out help the flow?

Funny, my CEL has been on for three years, now (O2 sensor problem). '96, OBD II. Runs fine. MPG always 14 or 15. No issues, though. I don't really care anymore.

Check he fuse box under the hood. Little known fact, there is a o2 sensor fuse. Did you replace BOTH o2 sensors?

Yeah, make sure this one isn't blown.

Yup. It's not listed in any shop manual or even the FSM. Most dealer mechanics dont even know its there. 99% of mechanics in general dont know its there lol. Seems like Jeep forgot to mention it to anyone.

Im not a scientist, but I am a thinker. Banging it around could cause it to break apart may cause a rattle, with worse flow, at least as far as I could tell. I dont think thats your point of restriction in flow either.

Exhaust mods worth their salt are probably not going to be found in a "cheap fix" thread.

Im the guy who makes new gauges, check out our gallery at Teamadw.com

A cat from 89 is part of your restriction with out a doubt. Technology has come a long way since 89 todays high flow cats flow just as well as not having a cat.

I'll add a new cat to the growing list of things I need then.

Remove Cat, gut Cat or run a length of exhaust pipe thought it. If your state don't sniff or look ( like SC ) your fine. Hell, I havn't had a Cat on my XJ for YEARS and gained about 2mpg and it throws no codes. It is a 91 tho.

I don't blame people for their mistakes, but I do expect they pay for them.

Alright you Primitive Screwheads, listen up! You see this? This... is my boomstick! The twelve-gauge double-barreled Remington. S-Mart's top of the line. You can find this in the sporting goods department. That's right, this sweet baby was made in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Retails for about a hundred and nine, ninety five. It's got a walnut stock, cobalt blue steel, and a hair trigger. That's right. Shop smart. Shop S-Mart. You got that?
