tire balancing

I got this from another web site so I am not claiming that I came up with it on my own. I used 8oz of airsoft pellets to balance my tires. Just pull the tires off the Jeep, remove all the weights, break the bead using the high lift method. Poar the air soft pellets into the tire and seal back up. It works great! Not really sure how but I guess the pellets spread out in the tire as it goes down the road and go to the lightest part? This is a link as far as how much weight to use. http://www.innovativebalancing.com/BigTirechart.htm The best part is not having to worry about knocking the weights off when wheeling and even when mud it packed into the rim it still balances it out.

These are the pellets I used. One package if around 8oz.

Interesting

Do they melt in the hot tires and do they stay in place via centrifugal force?

I can not imagine a tire getting hot enough to melt them. Not real sure how it works but it does!

Did this solve a balancing problem with your 35s? Is the ride better? What are your results?

I've used Equal in my 33" SSRs. I had a vibration at around 65mph, but now it's a lot less noticeable. I still have the lead weights on though. The lead weights do not effect the "polymer" at all, because it has to compensate for it.

I used 5 ozs of Copperhead or Daisy brand BBs for a BB gun to balance my 35s. works like a charm. no more lost rim weights and it looks better without 8 rim weights all over my wheels

you'll hear them when you stop. but its not bad. And you get some good funny looks from people sitting next to you with their windows down when you stop. you'll hear em kinda roll down the tire and some bounce off the top of your rim.

I can not hear the air soft pellets at all. It is hard to hear anything with the roar of the tires and the loud exshaust. No I did not have any balancing issues before besides knocking the weights off. I have also heard of people using 3 golf balls too. You would really hear those bouncing around!

I hated them I had the actual pour in weights that was like sand, it didnt work for crap when I hit about 35 mph it got out of balance so bad I thought it was going to throw me off the road! I will never use that stuff again, put my lead weights back on and problem solved.
