With Things Found in My Garage, I:
Hi everyone!
So I've been looking at the thread with everything done for $100 or less and a lot of the ideas look great. However, that'll nickel and dime a Jeeper to death! So I was thinking that everyone could post ideas (I don't know how many there could be..) of mods you were able to do with just the items in your house/garage. Some small things that enables someone to tinker, upgrade their Jeep for not much! Thanks!
P.S. Please no smart-alecs that would say something like "Well, my Chevy 350 was in my garage when I did the swap!"

well the one thing i did with garage supplies was pull my TJ doors off (never had been yanked on my 03) i used a hydraulic motorcycle lift and a rod to accomplish it. Shortly thereafter the wife and i were going to head downtown and realized i didnt have a driver side mirror!!! so i searched around and found a small mirror that my grandpa had used to possibly find lost parts in an engine compartment. with a little electrical tape i got it to work. Its hardly a suitable mirror but i thought a cop would let me off if he had a sense of humor...

posted in the for 100 or less thread already... but i made these lights and light bar.
i just took a sealed beam headlight and the metal bezel, cut the bottom of it so i could bend it to have 2 pieces sticking down, and then cut another piece of metal into a U shape to fit inside of it and used some old bolts i had sitting around to keep it all together. if i could do it again i would go get some round sealed beams but i am happy with these. The light bar is made with an old sign post (like for a street sign) that i found along the side of the road. it had been sitting in my yard for a couple years and i finally thought of something to do with it haha.
that's my favorite mod so far. the stock lights aren't really that great but these are pretty good when aimed right.

I had a couple of metal truss supports left over from my patio roof and used them to make brackets to hold my Hi-lift jack to my roof rack.
