shoe dye for fender flares?

Here's something i was thinking about, i had an old pair of cheep black shoes that i re-dyed for my wedding over a year ago. Since then they've seen plenty of hot, cold ,rain ,snow hours in a hot car in the sun ect and they sill look great. So that got me thinking what about faded fender flares would it work? Im asking because its alot cheeper than auto dye and comes with an easy application sponge thing, that worked great

My thought would be it would wear off, maybe if you keep applying it, but there's only one way to know for sure!

Wating for the summer to try it i already dd the tofch and heat gun looks like *** for about a month than went back to being faded

what I did with mine, is masked them off from the body, and did some satin finish paint. Since my truck is black, i couldn't find a grey paint, but i used that krylon fusion. works great.

I did it when I bought the jeep a few months back, still the same new finish..just covered in mud ofcourse!

For faded fender flares, try 303 spray. You appply it like armor all. Brings the black color back.

I painted mine with Vinson and fabric spraypaint been on a week and hasn't faded yet:p

I've heard a couple different things. One was motor oil.
The other the salesman used- amor-all. It was either te tire wet, or vinyl protector....

I tried EVERYTHING even shoe polish...
I just got done putting new flairs on...
Father in law said he used Magic Wipe that he seen on T.V. and his faded plastic looks like new...
Has anybody tried this on the flairs?

I wouldn't see any of that crap on tv work. But I'd be curious to see when my flares start fading again

Never tried shoe polish. I imagine it would wear out faster than the shoes just due to the weather.

I use Mother's Back to Black on faded trim/fenders and it works pretty good. Of course the best way is to consistently keep a good protectant on, but we know how that goes :p

Use a heat gun and wave it over the flare til it turns back to black dont leave it in one spot to long can melt it

I've always used baby oil.
