shift knob

how do you get the shift knob off of a stock shifter on a 2000 wrangler? any help much appriciated!!

stick a knife into the edge of the cap (where the shift pattern is printed on) and pop it off (it's a biatch to get off). there's a bolt under the cap...don't remember what size. undo the bolt on it should come off.

Yup. The cap pops off (mine is pretty easy), and simply unbolts.

Simple trick to make taking it off easier... Heat up the knob first with a hair dryer. This will slightly soften the plastic (or whatever it is) and make popping the center out just a little bit easier.
