Maybe this would help
http://www.fabricspraypaint.com/ I would talk to a upholstery shop and ask them I think I have seen a paint for car interiors at Kragen before but I cant remember Good Luck. |

Another related question. What paint would I use to paint the underside of my soft top?

I used Duplicolor on a bunch of my dash stuff and also on my arm rests on my doors (Sahara) it seems to be holding up well, and those are really flexy. I would think it would do good on roll bar padding. If you do a search you will find a thread where I posted a link to Duplicolor's website where one of their guys does a set of seats with it.

I used Duplicolor on my roll bar covers. They were dirty gray. I cleaned them up real well and painted them flat black. Armor alled them and they look brand new. This was 2 years ago. Still holding up!

Found some pics... here are the seats - from grey to a nice black. I used rustoleum vinyl and fabric paint... as many coats as 4 cans would allow.
Never posted pics b4.. but here goes: grey seats http://i612.photobucket.com/albums/tt202/jousley11/greyseats.jpg black seats http://i612.photobucket.com/albums/tt202/jousley11/blackseats.jpg They turned out pretty nice... i'll put em back in the jeep later ![]() Secondly, the roll bar padding.. I don't have any pics of the b4.. but they were a nasty khaki brown color.. worst of all they were faded really badly in the sun. If you're going to do this - prepare to take off soft top strut thingies (that's the technical name) and all seatbelts. Again, i used rustoleum vinyl & fabric paint: black painted rollbar padding: http://i612.photobucket.com/albums/tt202/jousley11/blackpadding1.jpg http://i612.photobucket.com/albums/tt202/jousley11/blackpadding2.jpg http://i612.photobucket.com/albums/tt202/jousley11/blackpadding3.jpg Tips for painting the roll bar padding: 1) put a lot of coats, as they face sun damage/wind/and are generally beat up a bit.. you don't want to have to do this again in six months 2) When they are done and dry - put on a thick coat of some armor all.. again for protection, and it softens em up a bit.. they will be a bit more stiff than you remember them from the paint.. 3) its ok to paint all over the zippers - but before you put them back on your rig, zip up the zippers together a few times.. this will flake out some of the extra black paint in the zippers and will make it way easier to put them back on the jeep - again they are stiffer so it was a bit of a b*tch to get em back on... so run the zippers a few times to make it easier.. This was my first "mod" on my first jeep, and i'm pretty satisfied with it. I'll be doing a bunch o stuff and posting it all... to everyone - thanks to all for these greats posts in the forums, i have learned so much. J. |

I've heard using the fabric dye is the best way to take care of roll bar padding.....I'm sure a search on roll bar dye would provide results.
