New locker company?

Anybody heard of Lincoln lockers? They're pretty inexpensive but do require small fabrication. But for the money you could have front and rear lockers for under 10 dollars if you do your own work.

Any thought?

I think everyone has heard of Lincoln lockers. Its just a process of welding your spider gears to create a mini spool that isn't as stron as a mini spool. Lincoln refers to the brand of welder, not a company that makes auto parts. It is a terrible idea and I haven't seen anyone that's ever run them on the trail tell someone else that its been the best way to go. I have seen a few explode though. That's more expensive as doing it right the first time.

Think about it.

Not a locker company obviously and isn't a new idea. The cons are if you don't do it right the welds can shatter and you can ruin the diff internals, you no longer can remove the spider gears, and it creates a permanent lock which means you cannot drive on the street and tight turns risk snapping something.

I'll bet 10 to 1 that copious amounts of alcohol are involved, and probably a redneck wearing overalls with no shirt as well.

Just a guess......

That thread was freaking amazing. I tried to find it just now, but it didn't come up.

EDIT: It's on Pirate. That's why I couldn't find it.

You just gave me a GREAT idea....

A guy at the Screven County Ga dirt track had me MIG weld up a roll cage for his car 6 months ago and still hasn't paid me,after a lil asking around he apparently is well known for ripping people off for work on it and his uncle is a sheriff in that county so he "thinks" he's un-touchable...

He called me 3 days ago oppologising for a non payment for the work with some sorry low funds excuse(his father owns a 700 + acreage farming business..do i look like a big lollipop?)
He wants me to "Lincoln lock" his 8.8 rear in it....think i'll weld it like that and tell him to come and get it when everything is payed 100%....
