Yah, they're great heavy duty flashlights, but in my opinion they're heavy and bulky. I got a headlamp with LEDs and they do every job I need it for and I have my hands free. Plus it fits anywhere... glove box, pants pocket, and you can even loop the head strap around the rolecage and use it as a cargo light. Mine ran me about $40 and gets up to 120 hrs of light and lights up to 50 metres, all on 3 simple AAA batteries. At 95 or so grams the whole thing weighs less than a bar of chocolate.

I used it to take my hard top of and put my soft top on in the pitch dark (don't ask) and it was all i needed for light.
Mag-lites make good clubs. A headlamp won't help you defend yourself from the misguided who walk the earth.

How's that Hope and Change workin for ya?

Mine is beside the drivers seat, I think the brackets came from either Home Depot or Lowes.

I've got one of those tossed in the center console of my JK. Now ignore that I said that until my Tuffy console comes in...

Because they are dual purpose. Light and personal defense.

I like the clips too, but if you're going to use pvc here's a little tip. Heat the end of the pvc (without burning it) until it's soft and slam the light into the tube. It may take a few tries but if you do it right you end up with a perfectly flared end so the light fits snugly and it looks real clean.

My Maglite is mounted right behind the center console. I reach there with my right hand and it's in my hand in less than 3 seconds.

The top and doors on this vehicle are designed only for protection against the elements. Do not rely on the top and doors to contain occupants within the vehicle or to protect against injury during an accident. Wear seatbelts at all times.
